Art Shows & News California Art Shows And Events

Art has been a part of my life for many years. Now that I'm returning home to sunny California I expect to become more active on the art scene. Friends, family and art show enthusiasts can keep up with my art show schedule, and any interesting art news that I come across. If you know of a good art show in the Southern California area, please email me using my simple web email form. I've included a few memorable moments in my art history here as well.

La Quinta Arts Festival 2002
La Quinta Arts Foundation's premier event and primary fundraiser has become a prestigious, nationally recognized, juried fine arts show exhibiting a wide variety of media. This annual four-day event features over 250 of the best artists from across the U.S. and abroad. La Quinta Arts Festival is attended by over 25,000 visitors annually and continues to grow in sales and popularity. As an artist selected to be in this event, one of my oil paintings, Joshua, the large Steelhead Trout under water, was listed in the La Quinta Arts Festival catalog on page 17.
The Tico Times, March 17, 2000
"Inspired by the surroundings in his adopted home of Costa Rica, contemporary artist Greg Balster captures Images of Quepos / Manuel Antonio. He shows nine acrylics at the Si Como No hotel gallery, at the top of the hill in Manuel Antonio and the Si Como No II gallery in downtown Quepos." My acrylic painting, Mero, appeared as a feature article in The Tico Times.
